Samantha Pleet is a new york based designer who makes the kind of clothes I'd like to wear if i had a hint of cool and was the 4th member of Au reviour Simone. Fall 09 sees a ton of playful play suits Cute capes and delectable dresses she's also recently collaborated with Urban outfitters her clothes are so sweet they make your teeth rot .

Check out this super cute video showing off her new collection in which pleet uses her fancy artists/musician friends to show off her clothes made me smiley which is always nice

DREAMO of TEAMO

Teamo is a brand that packs serious punch Rafa and Roberto design clothes with bundles of personality if they could talk they would say "i'm cool you know i am and if you undo my buttons and slip inside everyone will think your cool too!". I stumbled  across on them while surfing myspace weirdly enough and I've been romantically involved ever since . Rafa and Roberto kindly agreed to answer some of my banal questions on their awesome FW09-10 collection we talked kittens mexico and youtube.

I know you came together in 2006 but what were your backgrounds before that ?

Rafael was a musician and was the vocal of a band "dragkillers" and he also design clothes for his own label and Roberto, was studing communications, and design and did fashion styling for mexican magazines..

What this is particular collection based on ? What were your influences what kind of girl and boy are you designing for? 

Aleister Crowley and his poetry. We think one of the most important influences in every collection are our girlfriends. We design for boys and girls that are not afraid of experiement with silouettes, and know what´s happening in the world.

I'm interested in how you use references from the past with a modern edgy twist will you tell me more about that what's your process?

 As mexicans we have lots of old fashion references wich still alive on the streets but a contemporary touch, so we have this kind of vision to make something modern from something old.

 TEAMO is all about LOVE what things pocessions or people do you love the most?first our little kitten " manzana" our friends, our partners, our city, ourselves.

I've got the Bones for Dominic Jones!!!

Dominic Jones is a great jewellery designer his pieces are tough and dainty all at the same time I was first shown them by the rather lovely Julia and then I remembered reading about him in time out magazine he's one of Pugh's one to watch with great hair (i'm quite jealous of the colour) a fun blog and a rather cool celeb following big things are happening for this chap.

This is unsurprising the launch of Versus which will  be back with us 2010 will include a capsule collection of yummy scrummy  bags and shoes from the savvy scottsman if you ask me it's only a matter of time before he takes over from Donatella. 

the t shirt trail continues

This little t shirt obsession i seem to be having the last couple of weeks is killing the funds i got quite emotional  when i went to topshop and found a whole t shirt section there were tons in fat girl size too maybe i should start robbing people to feed this new habit.

Anyway there was a point to my ramble Gloria loves valentine have launched a yummy yum yum t shirt range methinks you can get them from the website . 

The other day while moaning via email I thought of a perfect t shirt slogan "don't care about cool" this is because i gave up the cool fight long ago think of it as a mini protest or something.  i'm  also fond of  like"librarians rock " their cool and know about books and stuff.

Apologies for the lack of posts I've just gotten out of an alcoholic coma (expect pics of drunken madness sooon!!) lots happened this week I saw off one year which was good on the whole bad in other ways .I'm staying at fancypants magazine on a more permanent basis well until I get fired give it a week and ill be back watching daytime TV. Anyway back to my point I think was trying to make one Dr martens have asked 69 creatives to redesign the infamous 1460 boot I LOVE Dm's with a passion they remind me of my dad who lived in them when I was a baby after breaking them in (which is horrific ) their super comfy and go with everything I own. Although you can't buy the limited edition ones you can get the original online above are a few I'm into.

So while watching the princess diaries (don't laugh this movie is awesome) I decided to mull over some of my favourite things this year in fashion most of all I've been really into the new graduate designers  this year lots of fun shapes and different use of textures and some which are just plain FUN I styled a fashion show a few weeks ago and i had the pleasure of using some of these designers its always good to look now because odds are they'll  all be famous and won't want to hang out with me next year.

I'm on the search for ....

A selection of  nice cotton t shirts i don't really know why  i'm constantly hunting for this i think its because its like looking for jeans or black trousers U never find a pair that you truly love you know i want a t shirt that i LOVE with every inch of my being i stumbled upon these from a melbourne based brand called I heard they eat cigarettes its a cute brand and i like the names for  some of their denim birth control, banshee and my fave skeletor awesome.

I'm a Barbie Girl in a Barbie WORLD......

Not entirely true when I was little my barbie encounters included taking off her clothes and putting her in compromising positions with ken/teddy bears/ trolls etc etc and trying to dye shiny blonde hair black (i was quite macabre i know). Barbie turns 50 in 2009 she's looking pretty good for an approaching OAP . In celebration Mattel have  gone collaboration crazy Christian Louboutin is designing a shoe collection based on the iconic doll which will be shown in a runway presentation @ new York  fashion week,Jeremy Scott is creating a collection inspired by Barbie which will debut in March at Colette for Paris fashion week if that wasn't awesome enough Shanghai are getting there very own house of Barbie that's 35,000 sq foot  and 8 floors of pink people MAZING.

Christmas is over we bickered, got Drunk (mulled wine Yum) and Ate. Anyway I was having a look see at new stuff on YouTube and i saw Beyonce (sash fierce / insert other name here's) new Video Diva. Now I've never been a fan for a diva in general being a major BITCH and completely self indulgent Isn't something to be envied, I tend to favour a quiet riot me but I'm seriously loving the wardrobe choices  in this Vid sasha's stylist is loving Gareth Pugh  at the moment .What you think would seem rather considered and overdone a la  Ri Ri  looks well kinda Fierce!!!
