Question Time part 3

So here we go again, this time we have the everyone's favorite fashionista Julia Frakes I love her for so many reasons, Her enviable sense of style, her way with words ( Julia contributes to several magazines Lula, Vogue Girl Korea, 25 Magazine, Vogue Nippon, InStyle UK etc) and her lovely scummy Tumbler called Yes! a bunny stream of conch its full of oh so cute images, interviews and fun stuff that makes a girl feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Name: Julia Frakes

Age: 20

Location: New York City (downtown)

What do you do? Fashion writer, model (represented by Next Model Management - Special Bookings), stylist

If your life had a theme song, what would it be? Perhaps "17 Pink Sugar Elephants" by Vashti Bunyan. Although my mum told me that she originally settled on the name "Julia" from my eponymous Beatles song on The White Album.

Who was your first crush? Conan O'Brien.

Best year you weren’t alive for? 1776, 1976.

What film makes you all romantic? The Big Sleep with Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall; Franco Zeffirelli's Romeo & Juliet and Jane Eyre (with Charlotte Gainsbourg); Léa Pool's Lost and Delirious; and admittedly Nora Ephron's You've Got Mail.

When's the last time you felt nostalgic? Listening to Fleetwood Mac always reminds me of my childhood: specifically driving in my mom's old green Land Rover to the horse stables or to Miller's Orchard to pick up apples and gourds and pumpkins in the autumn.

Fave...

Possession: I would never consider her a 'possession' per se... but without a doubt my roly-poly adorable ragdoll cat, Daisy. What an amazing listener.

Smell: Coastal Maine. On the fragrance front: Le Labo's sprightly Ambrette 9, Penhaligon's sentimental Bluebell, L'Artisan Parfumeur's fleeting Cote d'Amour and Byredo Parfum's subtle Blanche.
Candles: Ladurée's Amandine, Alexa Rodulfo's Bois Blanc and Cire Trudon's Spiritus Sancti.

Guilty pleasure: Stephen Jones hats, Rachel Maddow, Bill Maher, One Lucky Duck's raw vegan "ice cream", collecting an altogether insane amount of bizarrely herbally candles, jamming out to staggeringly profane music in my car at equally profane volumes.

Cake: is melt-in-your-mouth delectable from Pure Food and Wine near Gramercy Park.

love is... in the words of William Shakespeare: "love is a spirit of all compact of fire"

God is... awesome, all-pervasive... and entirely relative; surely not without a sense of humour.

You is... not taking myself too seriously.

Fashion is... all in the moment.
